Description

Broadway Fairy Tales Spring Break camp will now be offered as a VIRTUAL SPRING BREAK! Students ages 7-12 will still be able to experience the magic of fairy tales through Broadway’s best musicals and stories! In this interactive and creative virtual classroom, students will not only learn choreography, explore scene work, and learn music, but they will also experience hands-on creative activities in scene design, costume design, puppetry and more! Using Zoom Meetings, students will experience the Virtual Spring Break as part of a class of no more than 10 students. Pre-recorded lessons with our Conservatory Teaching Artists that use the magic of theatre will be combined with a virtual live classroom teacher to keep students engaged, asking questions, and on-task. This Virtual Spring Break is designed to keep students engaged and creating and allow the time and space for parents to continue their own work from home.

This is a half-day camp from 9am-12:30pm. Each day will include three activities, and two 15-minute breaks. Students will need a computer, or Ipad, or even just a smart-phone and access to Zoom to connect to the virtual classroom. Parents will be provided with an exact daily schedule and the list of required supplies for creative activities. All supplies will be common household items such as paper, markers, etc.

Your favorite Conservatory Teaching Artists, Jess Barbour, Matthew Hager, Jenna Johnson who were teaching Triple Threat Training and Mini-Courses as well as Conservatory Staff, Katrina, Lauren, and Jose will be working as teaching artists and/or serve as your virtual classroom teacher!

Families can choose one of two options to receive the Virtual Spring Break.
  1. Families can choose to participate in a virtual classroom with a live teaching artist and receive the learning in a classroom with up to 10 other students at the scheduled time.
  2. Families can opt to receive the 15-hours of pre-recorded instruction and do the activities, learn the choreography, and more on their own time without a virtual live classroom teacher.
