Broadway Bootcamp: Selections from Disney’s Frozen Jr.
Level: Beginner/Intermediate (no audition required)
Ages: 7 - 17
Dates: Two Weeks; June 18th – June 28th (Mon-Fri Only)
Times: 9 am – 4 pm
Final Sharing: Friday, June 28th at 5 pm at NCT Conservatory
Focus: Basics of musical theater, acting, voice, dance, and performance technique
Description: In this two-week intensive, students will receive specialized guidance on what it takes to be a musical theatre artist, including training in acting, singing, and dancing, focusing on beginner technique, and exploring their unique voice. This program is designed for students of all ages and abilities but geared more towards supporting beginner students who are starting their journey in musical theater.
About the Show: The enchanting modern classic from Disney is ready for your Broadway Junior stars! Frozen JR. is based on the 2018 Broadway musical, and brings Elsa, Anna, and the magical land of Arendelle to life, onstage. The show features all of the memorable songs from the animated film, with music and lyrics by Kristen Anderson-Lopez and Robert Lopez, plus five new songs written for the Broadway production.
A story of true love and acceptance between sisters, Frozen JR. expands upon the emotional relationship and journey between Princesses Anna and Elsa. When faced with danger, the two discover their hidden potential and the powerful bond of sisterhood. With a cast of beloved characters and loaded with magic, adventure, and plenty of humor, Frozen JR. is sure to thaw even the coldest heart!
Broadway Bootcamp session will include the following:
- Students will rotate between acting, dance, and voice disciplines daily to learn basic skills.
- In their respective groups, students will learn selections from Frozen Jr. Students will be assigned roles and learn dialogue, songs, and dances within those groups.
- Students will receive a script on the first day.
- Students will be provided with camp t-shirts for their final sharing and commemoration of the camp.
- Parents will be able to stay up to date on the fun being had every day in Bootcamp via the Stack Team App, a mobile app and website that serves as a communication tool for the two weeks.
- Students will grow creatively and learn musical theater fundamentals alongside musical theater professionals.
On the final day of camp, students will present what they learned in a free final sharing, which friends and family can attend. Our final sharing is designed to be low-pressure, upbeat, and, most of all, fun!
